I contemplated writing for Mind Body Green for over a year, but never thought I was a good enough writer or that anyone would be interested in what I have to say.
But Mind Body Green accepted the first article I submitted to them! I wrote this article on how to figure out where you want to be in 5 years after seeing several of the people I work with struggle when asked to paint a picture of their life in two to five years. I’m no longer paralyzed by this question and wanted to share what I’d learned. But I was doubtful that Mind Body Green would publish the article.

My first few weeks in grad school, it felt like I was asked this question daily. Thinking about the future would make my mind go blank. How could I not know what I wanted to do in five years?
I still get asked that question, and while it makes my heart pound, it’s not out of fear of not knowing the answer. It’s out of excitement and anticipation for achieving my vision.
