I always knew I was meant to do something, but I wasn’t sure what IT was. In the journey to find the perfect fit, I traveled the world, got a lot of education, and had some amazing adventures and experiences – giving me diverse skills, talents, and passions. I was a straight-A student, double majoring in Sociology and Global Studies in college and graduating with more honors than would fit on my gown. I backpacked alone for 9 months, traveling to 20 countries. I have a Masters of Public Health from one of the top universities in the country and worked at an international non-profit designing and evaluating programs to save women from dying in childbirth in Africa. I’ve created health programs from the ground-up, adult-learning based trainings, impact evaluations, five-year strategic plans, and organizational evaluation metrics and systems. I’ve spoken at conferences across the globe and worked in over 10 countries.
Feeling like there was still something more, I forged out on my own and started my own business as a consultant. I also began studying yoga, tantra, and transformational coaching. I kept looking for the one thing that was my “it”. What I learned was that my one thing didn’t exist – I had to create it for myself. In my consulting, was able to pull my strategic planning, design thinking, and qualitative research from my Public Health days and combine it with my strong intuition, love of aesthetics, and work as a transformational coach and strategy consultant.
I am right and left brained; a macro and a micro thinker; practical and intuitive. I bring together all the seemingly disparate parts myself to Vision Cartography.
I am a…
I am a textbook Maven archetype from Malcolm Gladwell’s “The Tipping Point.” I accumulate knowledge and share it with others. When I hear a problem, I don’t just want to find a solution – I want to find the BEST solution. With my clients, I investigate to find exactly what they need, using my arsenal of eclectic knowledge and experiences.
I have an eye for beauty and can’t help bringing it into everything I do. I bring a design focus to strategic planning – I make it a beautiful process and product rather than something solely functional. My visual eye for strategy makes it more tangible and real – and is completely different than any kind of strategy planning you’ve done before.
I am a trained doula, a non-medical support to laboring mothers and “a woman who serves” in Ancient Greek. My highest purpose is to be of service. I put all of my energy towards ensuring the success of my clients. Because I work with visionaries who want to change the world, I contribute to making the world a better place.
Everything exists in and as a system. The only way to fully understand something is to understand how all the parts work together to create the whole. Thinking this way, nothing slips through the cracks. When I Vision Map, all you have to do is describe your vision and immediately my brain starts organizing and putting the pieces together.
My whole life I had an itch that I don’t quite fit. It led me to over 40 countries: studying abroad, backpacking solo for 9 months, and working in Africa. My travels made me independent, innovative, and resilient. Working and living internationally honed my skills to connect and really get people quickly, no matter their culture or language.
I am a 1 on the Enneagram – a perfectionist. I am accurate, thorough, and principled. I want to do what is right, and do it right. Yes perfectionism has a shadow, like everything does. But being a perfectionist means that I have high standards and work to achieve them, for myself and for my clients.
By nature, I create experiences for people and to create space for celebration, creativity, and connection. I love to take care of people and make them feel comfortable and happy. I do the work so they don’t have to: my clients tell me that I reduce their anxiety with my calm demeanor and by making things simple, easy, and fun for them.
I get to the heart of the matter quickly, and often in surprising ways. I can uncover what’s really going on – and what’s really needed. I use my intuition in Vision Mapping to be able to “see” the client’s vision, expand it further, and use transformational coaching to help the client become the person they need to be in order to achieve their vision.
